From 31st March to 3rd April 2025, the MEDEVAL (NATO Medical Evaluation Course) international course was held in the conference premises of the DAP Hotel Prague. The event was held under the auspices of the Director of the Military Medicine Division of the Ministry of Defence in cooperation with the MILMED CoE (NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine).
In addition to Czech students from the ranks of Military Medicine Division, Military Medicine Agency, and Military Faculty of Medicine University of Defence, the course was also attended by students from abroad, especially the United States of America, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, and Slovakia. The professional guarantor of the course was OF-4 Intze Sheper, a representative of the MILMED CoE and a team of experienced and qualified instructors from the Netherlands, Hungary, Great Britain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United States of America.


The MEDEVAL – NATO Medical Evaluation Course is focused on the evaluation of medical units in accordance with STANAG 2560. It aims to ensure validity, credibility, and consistency in applying the NATO Medical Evaluation Manual (MEM) during the evaluation process. The course aims to familiarize students with the modular approach to providing medical support in NATO operations, gain knowledge of the process of evaluating medical units within validation and certification, and learn how to assess medical modules as a member or leader of an evaluation team. The teaching was carried out in the form of interactive lectures, practical tasks and culminated in a mini exercise, which took place with the support of the Military Medicine Agency in Hradec Kralove.
The organization of the entire event was carried out under the direction of the Military Faculty of Medicine of the University of Defence Hradec Kralove in cooperation with the Military Medical Agency Hradec Kralove.
