On Thursday, 4 September, Brigadier General Jan Farlík, Rector-Commandant of the University of Defence, received the members of two patrols that placed 6th and 13th in the 11th International Reconnaissance Patrol Competition. The competition took place from 17 to 21 August in the Libavá Training Area and tested the physical and mental readiness of participants under demanding conditions. The teams representing the University of Defence were composed of reconnaissance-specialized students from the Department of Intelligence Support.
“This is one of the most challenging competitions, and as a former reconnaissance officer, I deeply value not only your ability to push yourselves, but also to motivate your comrades when their strength is fading—to stand firm and persevere to the very end. My utmost respect,” said General Farlík to the successful students, encouraging them to continue striving for success in future events of this kind.

By participating in the four-day race, which included twelve disciplines along a 120-kilometer route, both teams demonstrated their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and proved themselves even against experienced teams. Their results confirm the high standard of preparation of University of Defence students.
