The university’s professional journal, Obrana a strategie (Defence and Strategy), has released its first issue of the year. It features eleven peer-reviewed articles focusing on current security and defence issues, addressing—among other topics—the transformation of European security policy, burden sharing within NATO, the development of the war in Ukraine, the security environment in the Sahel, the cyber resilience of public administration, and the motivation of Czech military students for service.
Published by the University of Defence, the journal is concurrently marking the 25th anniversary of its founding. Since 2001, it has established itself as a distinguished professional periodical dedicated to security and defence studies. This anniversary is also commemorated by a specially produced short video.
Recently published metrics provide a significant impetus for the journal’s further development. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the Defence and Strategy journal has achieved a Journal Impact Factor of 1.0. This result confirms the journal’s growing professional visibility and its standing within the international academic community.
