Another successful representative of the University of Defence received by Rector-Commandant Brigadier General Jan Farlík, in recognition of their outstanding achievement, is Private Arnošt Stelšovský. This student of the aviation specialization at the Faculty of Military Technology secured 3rd place in the single-seat aircraft category at the 19th FAI World Microlight Championship, held from 9–16 August in Chambley, France. The championship featured more than 50 crews from 9 countries. The competition program included navigational tasks requiring meter- and second-precise flight accuracy, economic tasks focused on flight planning with a limited fuel supply, and landing accuracy challenges within confined areas.

“When asked by the Rector-Commandant whether he would aim for the world champion title, Private Stelšovský replied, ‘It is within reach.’” With this year’s bronze podium finish, he was only 400 points short of the highest position out of a total of six thousand points.
